Eight performances at Lisner Auditorium: December 6-7 & 12-14

Who: Men and women of all ages and ancestries (18 and over *) -- SATB
When: Fri., May 23, 4:00-8:00pm & Sat., May 24, 9:30am-12:00pm

What: Prepare two pieces to sing unaccompanied: a song of your choice and any traditional carol.**

* High school students should audition for the teen chorus in September. Seniors graduating this Spring are eligible to audition as an adult.

** The entire audition process takes about 1 1/2 - 2 hours and includes performing some simple dance steps and singing with others. If you are comfortable singing in French, please do so. If you clog or step-dance, we are also interested in seeing you dance.

For our 26th Christmas Revels in Washington, D.C., we take a wintry journey into the deep forest and around the cozy fires of early Québec. The village of Trois Rivières celebrates the turning of the year with Québécois stories, music and dance performed by the Revels company of over 70 performers, ages 8-80. Internationally renowned dancer Pierre Chartrand, along with instrumentalists Éric Favreau (fiddle) and Stéphane Landry (accordion), join us from Montreal as our featured guest artists and tradition bearers. All performances take place in George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium in Washington, DC.

Please note: The Washington Revels community reflects our larger community, therefore we are seeking to create a diverse chorus consisting of good singers of all ancestries, sizes and ages.

Wednesday Rehearsals

• 11 Wednesday Evenings, June 4 (first meeting), as well as
  Sept. 10 – Nov. 19 from 7:15-10:00 pm

Weekend Rehearsals

• Saturday, September 13: 9:00am - 4:30pm
• Sunday, September 14: 12:00-6:00pm: Costume Parade & Fittings (1 hour appointments)
• Saturday, November 1: 9:00am - 5:00pm
• Sunday, November 2: Small group and dance rehearsals (TBD)
• Saturday, November 22: 9:00am - 5:00pm
• Sunday, November 23: Noon - 6:00pm (Possible small group rehearsal morning)
• Sunday, November 30: Noon - 6:00pm

In-Theater Rehearsals

• December 1 – December 4: 5:00-10:00pm (or until done Dec. 3 and 4)
